Winemaker's comments

Appearance: Intense carmine-ruby red opaque at the center but bright and youthful.

Nose: Spicy ripe blackcurrant fruit with some white pepper that gives way to an almost meaty savoury character before the berry fruit asserts itself again.

Palate: Full flavours of red berries and cherry fruit that balance the ripe but firm tannins that will become more rounded with time.  Pleasing aromatic flavours and aromas are beginning to develop.  A dry but still briary fruit finish.

Comments: Tasted at the beginning of June 2008.  An excellent structure that will serve the wine in good stead as it develops over the next two years and will keep it going for at least the next five years.
