Mischa Wine Information

Mischa Estate Shiraz Americana 1999

Winemaker's comments

This intense, vibrant Shiraz shows the deep purple of a youthful wine. Matured in 100% new American oak barrels for 9 months. The malolactic fermentation occurred in the barrel, resulting in a more harmonious wine. The aromas are rich and peppery, with herbaceous and nutmeg undertones. On the palate, there are the sweet, exotic flavours typical of American oak. With some bottle-aging this wine will truly express the Wellington terroir and the suitability of this cultivar to the area. To be enjoyed in the winter of 2001, but has the potential to reach full development in four year's time.
