VITICULTURAL ANALYSIS
Merlot is one of the 5 grape varieties used typically in Bordeaux blends but is also very popular as a single cultivar wine. Usually producing more delicate style red wines, Merlot typically blends very well with the bolder Cabernet Sauvignon. At Mischa we blended a small amount of Cabernet Franc with our Merlot, and matured the wine in Tight grained French oak for 12 months to produce an absolute gem of a Merlot for everyone to enjoy.
The La Famille wines demonstrate Mischa’s expertise with single and multi-regional blending, becoming the ultimate expression of our tried and tested traditions of sourcing the best fruit. We make these wines to style and then pursue the highest quality benchmarks. The bright, fresh-fruit flavours of La Famille are the perfect expression of Mischa Estate’s signature style.
