R188 per bottle

This Merlot is one of a kind, being a very limited production of only 3600 bottles produced. As with all Mischa wines, we take pride in the love and care that goes into each vintage and every bottle. This wine is a medium-bodied Merlot but punches well above its weight and can, at the same time, be taken very seriously. Well-balanced secondary flavors and aromas back lovely fruity flavors and smells due to proper maturation in oak and are masterfully blended to create a very special wine.

MERLOT 2021 QUICK NOTES

APPEARANCE:Medium to intense Ruby in colour with a truly alluring
rim and sheen leading the drinker to want to find out
what magic lies in the glass.

NOSE: The nose of this complex Merlot is led by primary aromas of fruit such as sweet and sour cherry, blueberries, and rose petals. Secondary aromas of tobacco, liquorice spice, and fynbos support the bouquet and deepen the pleasure of putting one’s nose into the glass. Smelling this wine is an experience in itself.

PALATE: A well-balanced medium-bodied wine. The palate opens up initially with beautiful flavors of cherries and blackberry. The well-rounded and fruity tannin structure opens up the mid-palate in an explosion of wild berry,
blueberry, and slight liquorice spice. The fresh acidity and balanced tannins guide the expression of this wine into a long and satisfying finish.

FOOD PAIRING: This wine drinks beautifully by itself but accompanies dishes of roast lamb, T-bone steak, and mixed vegetables very well.

VITICULTURAL ANALYSIS

Merlot is one of the 5 grape varieties used typically in Bordeaux blends but is also very popular as a single cultivar wine. Usually producing more delicate-style red wines, Merlot typically blends very well with the bolder Cabernet Sauvignon. Matured the wine in tight-grained French oak for 12 months to produce an absolute gem of a Merlot for everyone to enjoy.
