On the slopes of Groenberg, Mischa Estate, the views of Table Mountain, is caressed by sea breezes creating the perfect climate for extraordinary wines. With three generations of toil, expertise and love for the vine, the Barns family was the first vine nursery to make their own wine. Brothers and pioneers, Andrew and Gary, use regenerative farming practices to nurture their ancient soils to produce the finest fruit. Cultivating the vineyards and handcrafting their wine himself, Andrew reverently guides his grapes into the bottle to create the purest possible expression of their family farm. The Barns Brothers strive to bring you elegant excellence in every bottle and hope you’ll enjoy their fruits of their labour.

AGEING: This wine is ready to drink now, but can age for another 3 to 5 years

Roussanne is a white wine variety originally from the Rhône region in France. It’s known for its Russet colour grape, intrinsic ability to age, and difficulty to grow. Because of this, it’s rare as a single cultivar and often produced in a heavily oaked style.

Mischa’s Roussanne 2021 is unoaked so you can experience the full range of beautiful, bold flavours this elegant Roussanne has to offer. Out of 14 vintages, this Roussanne is only the 5th to be placed into the bottle and in very limited quantity.

I must admit, Roussanne isn’t usually for my palate, but I cannot deny the quality and production of this wine. Incredible with steak, fantastic with curries… it’s an experience in a bottle!
