NOSE: Typical of unwooded wines, enjoy primary aromas of honey, pear and yellow peach with subtle biscuity, secondary aromas.
PALATE: Fresh and zesty, citrusy acidity of orange peel and lemon zest, while delicate honeybush rounds out the palate. As a natural characteristic of Roussanne, a subtle smoothness and oaky undertone balances the acidity.
PAIRING: Delightful on its own, but pairs beautifully with seafood dishes like spicy paella and creamy baked fish, cheese platters of rich, confidence cheeses.
AGEING: Enjoy immediately or cellar for 3 to 5 years.
VITICULTURAL ANALYSIS
Roussanne is a white wine variety originally from the Rhône region in France. It’s known for its Russet-colour grape, intrinsic ability to age, and difficulty to grow. Because of this, it’s rare as a single cultivar and often produced in a heavily oaked style.
Mischa’s 2022 Roussanne is unoaked so you can experience the full range of beautiful, bold flavours this elegant Roussanne has to offer. Out of 14 vintages, this Roussanne is only the 5th to be placed into the bottle and in very limited quantity. Mischa Estate’s unique appellation has resulted in the Estate producing award-winning Roussanne vintages, year after year.
