ESTATE SHIRAZ 2021 QUICK NOTES
APPEARANCE: A deep ruby colour, with a rich purple to burgundy rim.
NOSE: Peppery, yet fruity aromas of smokey pepper, plums and a floral note of violets. A swirl of the glass reveals layers of dark fruit and spice.
PALATE: Spicy flavours are balanced with mulberry, sweet cherry and hints of violets. The gripping, but fruity tannin finishes off with a long lasting blackberry finish.
FOOD PAIRING: Lamb and beef roasts accompanied by a spicy berry jus. Up the ante by adding barbecued vegetables.

VITICULTURAL ANALYSIS
As always, Mischa Estate strives to create unique wines. This 2021 Shiraz is no exception. Breaking away from the norm, this wine shows more delicate flavours than the usual bold and spicy style. Being a full bodied Shiraz, one can still expect smoky spice and pepper notes, but it is wonderfully balanced with fruity and floral aromas and flavours. A well balanced tannin structure will ensure beautiful development on the palate and a long, flavourful finish.
We harvest our Shiraz from an old vineyard. Most importantly, this particular vineyard produces a very limited crop with a more delicate fruit. Therefore, Mischa Estate produces a Shiraz that competes at the highest level. At Mischa we use French and American oak to mature our Shiraz. However, not so much as to extract too many wood flavours. As a result, we allow the fruit to to speak for itself in this excellent, award-winning wine.
